CEO Bob Venero to Lead October 4 Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes

HOLBROOK, NY - June 1, 2009 - "Team Future Tech" is gearing up to help raise money to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The Walk to Cure Diabetes is the largest benefit walk on Long Island and takes place at Belmont Lake State Park on October 4, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. Last year, the walk raised $1.2 million for juvenile diabetes research and this year's goal is $1.5 million.

Future Tech and JDRF partnered earlier this year when Future Tech CEO Bob Venero challenged the community to collect their spare change and make a difference for a local charity. Titled "Change for Change," the event raised $17,000 for JDRF, based in Melville, NY.  When JDRF asked Venero to participate in this year's walk, Venero eagerly accepted the opportunity.

"We are honored to have this opportunity to put together a team for the JDRF walk," said Venero. "With each step we take, we will know that we have the opportunity to impact the lives of countless children affected by diabetes. And in this economy, our charities need all the help they can get. 'Team Future Tech' is ready to hit the pavement and help raise some much-needed funds for JDRF."

"We at JDRF are delighted that Future Tech has joined us in our mission to find a cure for diabetes," said Christina Colandro, special events coordinator for JDRF.
